5 Reasons why you should use Wunderlist for your to-do lists

Wunderlist

I’m a big fan of to-do lists, and I think they’re great! To-do lists are awesome for getting you organized and I think they can really give you a big boost while studying. They’re amazing because you can list the things you have to do and just forget about them. Instead of trying to remember what you have to do all the time, just take a look at your to-do list and you will remember. Wouldn’t you rather save your brain power for more important things (like studying Japanese, or writing that killer app)?

Although I’m a big fan of to-do lists, I never really used them until recently. The reason for that is because I’m not really a fan of writing things down with pen and paper. In this new digital age who will bother to pull out pen and paper when you can type it out on your phone or computer? If you feel that way about pen and paper, then Wunderlist is perfect for you! Even if you enjoy writing more than I do, you will not be able to resist the countless features that this application has to offer.

What is Wunderlist?

Wunderlist is a free task-manager application that makes writing to-do lists super easy and simple. I’m going to give you 5 reasons why you should start using this application today. Hopefully it will show you how amazing this software is, and you will be well on your way to leading a more productive life. Well let’s get started then shall we?

1. Wunderlist works everywhere
We all use a variety of devices now days, so multi-platform support is more important than ever. Wunderlist is a desktop app. Oh, and it’s an iPhone app too, and an iPad app, and an Android app. Wunderlist works on both Mac and Windows. Did I mention that it’s also a web app? This means that wherever you are, at whatever time, you can check your to-do lists. You create a free account and your lists will automatically sync up through all of your devices.

Because of Wunderlist’s portability, you will never be without your to-do lists. You don’t have to worry about carrying around a piece of paper and pencil with you when you have your iPhone.

2. Wunderlist is super easy
6WunderKinder, the company who made Wunderlist, has a very awesome motto that  is “Using your software shouldn’t feel like rocket science.” I wholeheartedly agree! Software should be easy to use. I would rather spend time using the application than learning how to use it. Wunderlist did just that, and in fact, I think that might have made it a little too easy.
Wunderlist organizes your to-do lists into very neat looking categories. For example, I have sections named “Japanese”, “Blogging”, “Web Development”, “School”, “Organization”, “Blog Comments”, and “Tweets.” That’s a lot but I think dividing into separate sections keeps everything neat and organized. I’ll add my daily to-do lists into their respective categories.

What if you don’t want to click though each category and just want to look at all of your tasks for that particular day? Wunderlist will remind you of all the remaining tasks left for the current day, the next day, and even the next 7 days so you won’t have to think about it.

3. Wunderlist looks amazing
You would be surprised at how much this matters, and it does. You will be more inclined to turn on the software every day if it looks good. The UI designers over at 6WunderKinder really did a fantastic job with this. They even give you the ability to choose one of twelve beautiful wallpapers for the backdrop.

4. Wunderlist makes you feel special
If you feel like your to-do list is getting a bit lonely, then don’t worry. Once again, Wunderlist has you covered. Wunderlist give you the ability to share your list with colleagues and friends. Not only can you email your friends but you can also upload your list to the cloud and receive a secret link to share with them. This is especially valuable if you want to collaborate or you just want to have some fun and share your list over twitter.

What if you forget, or you don’t have the software on? Wunderlist is like a very nice friend that reminds you about things you have to do. You can set a date to complete your items by a specific time. Wunderlist will then email you or send you push notifications. You have to tell it first though.

Those tasks would be due today (今日). Also as you can see, you can set Wunderlist to Japanese and over two dozen other languages as well.
5. Wunderlist lets you print your lists
I saved this one for last because I thought it would appeal to you paper n’ pen lovers out there. Wunderlist will let you print your lists out in all of  their glory. It won’t just print out a plain ol’ list though, it’s quite more than that. The lists come out very organized, neat, and they look very pretty. They even keep the day you’re supposed to finish your tasks.
